Berlin Maryland Welcome Center
First time visiting on 11/14/25. Welcome center was closed for renovations. However the town itself is awesome. Great restaurants, stores, a couple museums. For some reason the Ghost Museum was closed, no explanation. Took a 20 minute drive to Assateague Island National Seashore. Beautiful. If you can stay in center of town at the Hotel Atlantic. Wonderful hotel.

1 star — and that's being generous. Is there no 0-star or negative-star rating?
I stopped by with my family on March 30, 2026, around 1pm on our way home from Ocean City, hoping to pick up some maps or local information. What we experienced was beyond disappointing. A staff member was eating at her desk. When we asked if we could come in, she walked over — still chewing, food in her mouth — and asked why we were there. When I explained we were looking for visitor information, she simply pointed at the wall behind us and said, "It's behind you," without ever inviting us inside or offering any help. We stood at the door the entire time. No greeting. No "please come in." No explanation. Just a pointed finger and indifference. My daughter was so uneasy that she immediately asked us to leave. Consequently, I left with my family feeling unwelcome and dismissed. I hope no other visitor has to feel that way at a place literally called a Welcome Center.

I absolutely love Berlin, MD. About an hours drive for us. We go often. Love the small town charm and everyone is nice. We really like the small businesses that the town promotes.
