SUMMARY:Pasadena
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Pasadena was founded in 2000 by Joey Harkum on acoustic guitar
and\nvocals\, Aaron Hooper on bass\, Will Finley on lead guitar and Ben\nC
owdery on drums. The band started out as a group of three friends\nfrom Pa
sadena\, MD – Joey Harkum\, Will Finley and Aaron Hooper. “We\nwere to
o young to get into open mics\, so we repeatedly sneaked in and\nperformed
anyway in and around our hometown. Eventually the three of\nus began to b
e referred to as “the boys from Pasadena\,” and the\nband name “Pasa
dena” was born.” The band is known as an\n“originalist” in a busin
ess that loves cover songs\, they only\nperform their own work. Describing
  them can be a challenge. A mixture\nof “singer/songwriter driven rock\,
reggae and ska” does a good job\nof covering most of what they produce
when together but really just\nbegins to scratch the surface. The band bui
lt up a strong following in\ntheir hometown and throughout the U.S.\, conn
ecting with audiences\nthrough original music marked by smooth bass lines\
 , personal lyrics\,\ninfectious rhythms and lush harmonies.\n\nHowever\, i
n 2017 after relentless touring across the US\, the band\ndecided to hang
it up. Inevitably the retirement was short lived as\nthey decided to play
again with a reunion show to a sold out crowd at\nBaltimore Soundstage sho
w in August of 2019 and the itch to start\nplaying again started. The band
is currently still only playing\nsparingly but enough to keep their fans
happy and wanting more. If you\nsee them coming to your town make sure you
don’t miss it because it\nmight just be your last chance.  \n\nFree Ev
